In this workshop, Pietro will discuss design thinking as an approach to organizational change, innovation and problem-solving. Specifically, he will examine how various organizations have benefitted from an iterative process that combines exploration, ideation and implementation, and draws on effective tools and practices.
Pietro Micheli is the Professor of Business Performance and Innovation at Warwick Business School, where he is also Director of the Distance Learning MBA. Over the past 20 years, he has collaborated with over 60 organizations, including BP, Emirates Global Aluminium, Emirates group, HSBC, KLM, Royal Dutch Shell, Tata Group, UAE Government, and the UK Cabinet Office. In the past five years, he has won nine teaching awards. As a researcher he has been a principal investigator in projects funded by several institutions as well as private and public organizations. His research and consulting interests focus in two main areas: Design thinking and Innovation Management; Strategy Implementation and Performance Management.
Pietro’s research has resulted into the publication of 30 articles in top peer-reviewed journals (citations: 2,700 on Scopus; 6,000 on Google Scholar), three books, four reports, six case studies, and 27 business articles.
